To access the HLOOKUP function, you can either type in the syntax as shown above, starting with an ‘=’ sign, which means =HLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, row_index_num, [range_lookup]) or you can apply the function by first ensuring a horizontally oriented table and then select the Formulas tab in the ribbon interface. Here, click the Lookup & Reference button to activate a drop down menu where you can easily click the HLOOKUP option. This would open up the function window and leave it upon your discretion to fill in the respective values of each parameter.
