If Local Area Networking (LAN) is not your thing, then you can go for providing access to your printers using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). There are a number of VPN programs available to download. Once you have a VPN setup, you can connect to it to create a secured remote network. This remote network will channel all your data and allow you to safely share access to your printers, including giving others (your friends, hopefully!) the ability to use your printer remotely.
