Change Adware/Spyware-powered Search Engine In Chrome & Firefox

Sometimes it happens that you type-in a query in your web browser (Chrome or Firefox) address bar, and it takes you to a completely different search engine (rather than the specified Google, Bing etc., search results page). This may be an indicative of your browser being a victim of Adware/Spyware attack. Such malicious apps sneak into your system through an application, which is developed by a non-verified author (usually toolbar add-ons, streaming sites software etc). In this post, we will guide you through the process of removing adware/spyware tools and reverting to default/selected search engine in both Firefox and Google Chrome. These adware programs basically modify your default search engine (Google or Bing) to redirect to their own customized landing page. It can extremely annoying because these low-class search engines are of low quality, and have a lot of advertisements on their results page. But thankfully, with a few changes in your browser setting.
